Sandra was born on January 4, 1957, in
Lockney, Texas, to John Alvin Dorman and Rochelle Dorman.
After Graduating from Lockney High School in 1975, Sandra earned an associate's degree in business from West Texas State University in 1977 and, later, a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayland Baptist University in 1993.
She taught at Lockney Elementary School for 22 years. She was the librarian at Lockney High School for five years until her retirement in 2022. She loved teaching, but most importantly, she cared deeply for her students. Sandra served on numerous boards, clubs, and organizations because she was dedicated to helping the community she loved. For her efforts in helping the community, she was awarded the Lockney Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year in 1988.
Sandra married the love of her life, Zach Cummings, on June 18, 1976. They spent 48 years married and started dating 53 years ago. The couple created a warm, welcoming home filled with kindness and joy and were blessed with three children: Adam, Courtney, and Cagan. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved deeply and always put the needs of her family first.
For Sandra, the most cherished moments were those spent with her family. She was a loving Meme to her six grandchildren, supporting them at academic and sporting events and ensuring they knew she loved them to the moon and back. At Meme's, joy was abundant, love was shared, and time at her house was never enough.
Sandra is preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Rochelle Dorman.
She is survived by her husband, Zach Cummings; her three children and their spouses, Adam and Ashley Cummings of Amarillo, Courtney and Kyle Wood of Graham, and Cagan and Steph Cummings of Lockney; her six grandchildren, Laney Cummings, Carter Cummings, Kasyn Wood, Cooper Wood, Callyn Wood, and Sterling Cummings; one brother and his wife, Johnny and Julie Dorman; and cousins, Alisse and David Smyth and Missy and Raj Croager; and many other family members as well as her closest friends.
