Sandra "Sandy" Lee Daniels (Heckard), age 68, of the Upper East Side, St. Paul died peacefully on Wednesday, May 28th at Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, mother, nephew, and two sisters.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Doug Daniels; their children Jim (Katie M) Taylor, Nick (Katie L) Taylor, Katie (Bernard Davis) Daniels, Stephanie (Spencer) Heidish and Sarah (Jeremy) Salo; 11 grandchildren; father Jim Heckard; sister Cindy Koenig, nephews and niece.
Early in Sandy and Doug's marriage, they would pack up the boat and go fishing. They had a lot of fun at their family fishing tournaments. Sandy was right there with worms, leaches, crappie minnows, and no, she didn't bait her own hook! As time went on the fishing hooks got rusty and, their children found, baseball, softball, football and basketball with games and tournaments as close as the nearest Rec. Center and as far away as Iowa and Nebraska! Sandy supported all of her athletic children.
Sandy was a Licensed Nutritional Services Lunch Lady and worked at her alma mater school district ISD 622. Sandy's title tells it all, she could cook, and her husband could do dishes. The holidays filled their house with lots food and everybody she loved. If you went home hungry, don't call her she'll call you.
Sandy is in the hands of the Lord with two new legs and a new right shoulder.
Memorial service Thursday June 12th at 11:00AM with visitation at 10:00AM at Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret Street North, North St. Paul, MN 55109. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service. Private family burial at Saint Mary's.

My dear sister,
I miss you so much. When we were little, we were together all the time.
You took care of me when were small and BIG. I was your sidekick!!!
What will I do without you. I miss our talks and our tears. Say hi to Mom and Sue. You are in good hands! I will always love and miss you Sam.
I am so sad for your kids and grand kids.

I worked with Sandy at North High. She was a great teacher to me, and she made me laugh!! I will always remember the nickname she gave me, Ramona. There is an inside joke about it and if you worked with us you know. I wish I had visited her after she retired. I really loved her. Rest in Peace Sandy. You will be missed.
