Sandra J. "Sandy" Earley

Sandra Jean (Schliapa) Earley, 71, of Charlton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester.
She leaves her loving and devoted son, Benjamin J. Earley, of Sturbridge; her loving sister, Sharon J. Schliapa, of Southbridge; and also leaves many wonderful relatives and friends.
Sandy was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Chester and Gladys "Dolly." She was raised and educated in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School with the Class of 1971. Sandy then attended and graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education, in 1973.
She began her career at Merchants Mutual Insurance Company in Worcester after graduating from college. Sandy went on to spend many years as a claims adjuster in a line of work that she loved until she retired.
Sandy was an impassioned sun worshipper who spent over 30 years relaxing on the beach on the Cape with her son and her sister at their summer home in South Dennis. She also enjoyed lounging by the pool at her condominium in Charlton.
She enjoyed gardening, basketmaking, cooking, traveling, concerts, and crocheting over the years. Sandy was an avid reader, and always had her nose in a good mystery novel. She loved attending church fairs, craft fairs, and flea markets, especially on the Cape and during the Christmas season.
Family was everything to Sandy, and she adored her many wonderful aunts, uncles, and cousins who left this world before her.

Services for Sandy will be celebrated privately for her family. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
