Sandra "Sandy" Edwards, 65, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
Sandy was born October 23, 1957 in Mt. Airy, North Carolina to the late Cora Louise Jenkins.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Eddie Jenkins and Timmy Jenkins; and uncle, Joseph Felts.
Sandy loved the Lord and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was an avid dancer who specialized in the Shag and any line dance. She has been a member of Boppers Shag Club for the last 32 years and attended the spring and fall SOS meetings/get-together each year. Sandy was also a huge fan and supporter of Cocker Spaniel rescue.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Kings Baptist church . The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm at Kings Baptist Church in Charlotte officiated by Pastor Scott Keith. Burial will follow at the King's Church Charlotte Cemetery at 9115 Newell Baptist Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28213.
Survivors include husband, Sonny Edwards, of Harrisburg, NC, sister, Anita Paige and husband Tony of Lexington, NC; her best friend, Kay Measmer and husband Ronnie of Concord, NC; brother, Billy Jenkins of Mt. Airy, NC; nephews, Josh Edwards and wife, Faith of Hillsville, VA, Cody Herrin and Tyler Herrin of Lexington, NC; nieces, Destiny Bowers of Hillsville, VA and Lakota Hunter of Roanoke, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local humane society, Church or favorite charity in honor of Sandy.
