SANDRA FARLEY Obituary

FARLEY SANDRA (nee WAHL) June 4, 1945 - January 18, 2026 With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Sandra Mae "Sandy" (Wahl) Farley announces her passing on January 18, 2026. Born on June 4, 1945, Sandy lived a life filled with warmth, humor, and devotion to the people she loved. Over her lifetime, Sandy called many places home, including Berwyn, PA; Springfield, MA; Rochester, NY; Hockessin, DE; and Landenberg, PA. In later years, she spent part of each year in Florida, where she enjoyed the sunshine and slower pace of life. Without a doubt, her preferred home was Vero Beach. Sandy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years, Michael T. Farley; her parents, John J. and Mae E. Wahl; and her brother, Robert Wahl. She is survived by her three children, Michael Farley, Christina Malek (Matthew), and Erin Farley; and her four grandchildren, who brought endless light into her life: Gabe, Ellie, Michael, and Kate. Sandy found joy in time with friends, reading mystery and thriller novels, sharing stories, and enjoying peaceful days in Florida. At home, she could often be found working on a puzzle, gardening, or watching classic films, especially Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca. Sandy was known for her sharp mind, sense of humor, and ability to answer just about any question. In 1968, Sandy graduated from the Bryn Mawr School of Nursing. Unbeknownst to her at the time, this would make her the go-to family member for every cold symptom or mystery skin rash. Though small in stature, Sandy was a true fighter. She faced health challenges with remarkable strength and resilience, continually pushing through setbacks with determination and quiet grit. Time and again, she surprised those around her with what she could endure and overcome. Sandy's kindness, quick wit, and vibrant intellect will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, NY. A private gathering for close friends and family will be held at a later date. To offer condolences, visit: www.dohertyfh.com.
