Sandra Jean Finney - Preston

Sandra "Sandy" Jean Finney-Preston, (69) of Lexington, KY, went home to be with Jesus on April 16th, 2024. She was born on October 6, 1954, in Oak Ridge, TN.
Sandy graduated from Tates Creek High School (Class of 1973), pursued studies at Western Kentucky University, and attained her degree from the University of Kentucky. She proudly belonged to the Kappa Delta Sorority.
She was an active member of both the Church of the Savior and Baruch Haba Messianic Jewish Congregation in Nicholasville.
Sandy held the esteemed title of Honorable Kentucky Colonel. She served as the past president of the Longmeadow Junior Women's Club, contributed her talents as a former Mary Kay Consultant, and completed a marathon to support the American Diabetes Association. Sandy found joy in swimming, motorcycle riding, and her many bible studies. Throughout her life, Sandy devoted herself to her family's business, Finney Company Inc., and tirelessly cared for her parents. Most of all, Sandy wanted the world to know how much she loved Jesus.
She is survived by her loving husband Leslie Wayne Preston; daughters Kelly Jo Sherlock-Coffee (John) and Kathryn Jean Sherlock; mother Betty Joe Finney; brothers Thomas Clayton Finney (Shirley) and Brian Kimball Finney; nephew Christopher Brent Finney; and her cherished granddogs Isabella Marie, Willett Larue, Benjamin Watson and Theodore Sprocket.
Sandy was proceeded in death by her father, Benjamin Finney; nephew Thomas Clayton "Clay" Finney II; and her faithful canine companions Kody and Kory.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY 40513. Burial will follow in The Lexington Cemetery 833 West Main Street, Lexington, KY 40508. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
