Sandra Jean (Cooper) Firestone, Born May 6,1939 (85) of Ocala, FL went home to her heavenly father on July 30, 2024.
Sandra was born in Pontiac, MI to her father Bert H. Cooper and her mother Ruth (Diller) Cooper. She went to Pontiac High School and graduated in 1957. During her life Sandra worked as a Secretary, Bank Teller, Housewife and Mom. She loved to garden and loved to read. She loved Jesus and her church and was often found reading the Bible or daily devotionals. She and her husband, Gary spent many years volunteering at Shands Children's Hospital in the Cancer Center by making wooden toys and handmade dolls to distribute to the children. Bringing a little smile their faces brought joy to them both.
Sandra is survived by three daughters, Christa D. Burkhardt of Battle Creek, MI; Daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Christopher Dion OF Ocala, FL; Daughter and son-in-law, Denise K. and Mark Wood. She had four beautiful grandchildren, Shayna, Tommy, Nicholas and Michael.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Gary L. Firestone, sister Berta Hudson, her niece Cindy, her granddaughter Shayna Tidwell, and her nephew, Brian Hudson.
Sandra wished there to be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Hospital in her name at www.stjude.org. St. Jude is a Charity she held dear to her heart. She will be interred with her husband, Gary, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
