Sandra Faye Maddox Gassaway, 81, loving wife of Samuel "Sammy" Richard Gassaway for 63 years, passed away peacefully in Seneca, South Carolina on March 30th, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 16, 1945, in Anderson, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Earl Paul Maddox and Syble May Bryan Maddox.

Sandra was a devoted wife, a faithful friend, and a woman of strong faith. She retired from Ace Hardware in Seneca, SC, where she worked as a secretary in the business office. Sandra was also a longtime, active member of Westminster Wesleyan Church, where she found great joy in her church family and her faith.

She had a special love for her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Sandra especially cherished her nieces and nephews, who held a very special place in her heart.

In addition to her husband, Sandra is survived by numerous beloved family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melony Dawn Burriss; brothers, Kenneth Maddox, Thurmond Maddox, and Charles Maddox; and her sister, Mable Dyar.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2026, in the Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens.. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

The family is at the home of her niece, Sharon Burdette and husband Ralph, 412 Retreat St., Westminster, SC.
