Sandra “Sandy” J. Gibson, of Frankfort, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She born on October 4, 1955, in Pulaski County, Kentucky to Robert and Nancy (Smith) Gibson.
Sandy was a graduate of Clinton Prairie High School, class of 1973. She worked for Crellin, Bird House, and Back Street Café. She enjoyed taking little road trips, hanging out at the pool and being near water. She was a nature and animal lover and enjoyed going to the petting zoo and feeding the animals there. She was a happy go lucky person with a bubbly personality that earned her the name “Aunt Bubbles.” She had a heart for children and helping others. She loved her sons and family dearly.
Sandy is survived by her sons, Jeff Gibson and Chad Gibson; her siblings, Barbara Bayless, Joan Goode, Robert Gibson, Alan (Jackie) Gibson, Larry (Sharon) Gibson, Darryle (Deanna) Gibson; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; siblings, Ruthann Gibson, Kathleen Ely, Leland Gibson, Stuart Gibson; and life partner, Teddy Dean.
Visitation will be held, Friday, September 5, 2025, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Don Ely will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Paul Phillippe Resource Center in Sandy’s honor. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
