Peabody - Sandra M. (Durkee) Gill, age 85, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Sandy was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her three sons, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As a wife she was inseparable from her loving husband Jerome Patrick Gill. They shared everything with one another; the good, the bad, and the preciousness of all that life had to offer. As a mother she had three boys that she cared for, guarded and doted over whenever the opportunity arose. Yet still protective of her boys she opened her heart to their wives and welcomed them to the family. As a grandmother, probably her favorite duty, she cherished her little ones in special ways that only a grandmother knows how. Protecting, caring, and sometimes spoiling but always delighting in her time with them.
She was born and raised in Salem, the daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite (Comeau) Durkee. She was a graduate of Salem High School and had lived in Lynn for over 35 years. Although her last days were difficult and trying, her prior years were successfully filled with love, laughter, family, and grand memories. We are all eternally grateful for you and your warmth, feistiness, dedication and unwavering devotion to us.
Imagine you are with your husband Jerome, where your heart truly resides, he saved a seat on the glider on the front porch. Enjoy your time together. Love always!
Sandy will be greatly missed by her devoted sons and daughters-in-law; Philip and Noreen LeBlanc of Meredith, NH, Keith and Stacey LeBlanc of Beverly, and Jerome, Jr. and Nharlyn Gill of Swampscott; her loving sister, Beatrice Deland of Auburn, NH; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren LeBlanc, Julia LeBlanc, Philip LeBlanc IV, Jake LeBlanc, Aidan LeBlanc, Annabelle Gill and Jerome Gill III; as well as her cherished great grandchildren, Carter and Trey LeBlanc.
Service Information: Her visitation will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 11AM-12PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, with a funeral service beginning at 12PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
