Sandra J. Gniot

Visitation for Sandra “Sandie” J. Gniot, 81, of Algonquin, formerly of Palatine, will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. Prayers will be on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and process to St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. The Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Sandie was born on October 25, 1943, to Frank G. and Lorraine C. Galvan. She passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Sandie had a passion for cooking and baking. She loved preparing meals and hosting gatherings, bringing people together through food and hospitality.

She found joy in simple pleasures, such as sitting on the porch with a good book or spending time on the water, boating. A devoted fan of Days of Our Lives, she followed the show for over 50 years.

Her beloved dogs, Milo and Luna, held a special place in her heart. Above all, she cherished time spent with family.

Sandie was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence “Larry” Gniot for 30 years; loving mother of Julie (Kip) Bauer, Tom Gniot, Daniel Gniot; cherished grandmother of Bradley (Paige) Sanders, Jacob Sanders, and Jordan Sanders; dear great-grandmother of Juniper Sanders; and fond sister of Nancy Siemers.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Galvan.
