Sandra Jo Guenther, 79, of Creston, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, after a brief illness.
Sandy was born on Jan. 31, 1946, in Chillicothe, Ohio to John Richard and Cleo (Leach) Gillette and graduated from Chillicothe High School. She met Harry Guenther, Jr. in January, 1967 and one month later, she married Harry on Feb. 25, 1967. She had been a paralegal for Attorney Robert A. Steiskal in Youngstown for many years and she and Harry had made their home in Leavittsburg for 20 years. They moved to Port Charlotte, FL where they lived for 15 years and had made their home in the Wooster area since 2013. Sandy was a woman of great faith and had taught Sunday School and lead women’s groups over the years in churches she attended. She currently attended Grace Church in Wooster and was a member of Women of Grace. Sandy was an avid fisherwoman, and she enjoyed baking, cooking and hosting gatherings. She and Harry loved traveling and had many wonderful adventures together.
Surviving is her husband, Harry; her son and daughter-in-law, John Richard and Carrie Guenther of Apple Creek and many special cousins.
She was joined in heaven with her grandson, Gideon John Guenther and her parents.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Church in Wooster. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
