Sandra Robinson Hackworth, born on March 10, 1941, in a world that would be forever graced by her presence, passed away peacefully in her home on May 17, 2025. Her journey through life was one marked by passion, talent, and an unwavering commitment to her craft, particularly in the field of dance.
In 1963 at a very young age she opened her own dance school and was very well known in Texarkana for 35 years for her education of dancers. She was one of the founders of the Texarkana Ballet, volunteering her time and talent for all these years. Her dedication not only shaped a vibrant community around dance but also inspired countless students to discover their own love for movement and expression. She transformed the lives of many, instilling confidence and grace in her pupils, and nurturing a profound appreciation for the art of dance.
At the age of 15 she met the love of her life and a few short years later they separated into their own way. In 1975 they both found themselves single and raising two boys each. They married and established a wonderful family together that existed of four boys, soup kitchen, and a 24 hour laundry, but they made it.
In remembering Sandra, we honor a woman whose influence will continue to resonate through the generations of dancers she nurtured. Her passion and dedication to the art of dance made a lasting impact, reminding us all of the beauty of movement and the power of sharing one’s gifts with the world.
Sandra Robinson Hackworth will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her, and she leaves behind a legacy woven into the fabric of the lives she inspired.
