Sandra D. Hobson 83, formerly of Bedford, died on Monday, December 20, 2021, in Topeka, KS. She was born on January 26, 1938, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Martha Crawley. She was preceded in death by her husband John Hobson who was a member of the Air Force. She is survived by a daughter Teena Hobson of Florida; and a son Gregory Hobson of Topeka, KS; seven grandchildren: Shawn Riddick of Florida; Damian Hobson of Florida; Makayla Hobson of Florida; Michael Hobson of Topeka, KS; Mitchell Hobson of Topeka, KS; Marcos Hobson of Topeka, KS; and Yvette Hobson of Topeka, KS; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; four sisters: Margaret Sleaster of Bedford, Leslie "Bessie" Dively and husband Charles of Bedford, Patricia Henery, of Bedford, and Sara Angela Patillo of Altoona; and two brothers: Linn Crawley of Bedford, and Steven Crawley of Chambersburg. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Sylvia Marshall and Claudia Miller, and Iva Diane Crawley; two brothers: Joseph Crawley and Shirley Crawley; and her dearest friend, Mary Blodgett of Topeka, KS.
Sandra enjoyed gardening, reading, shopping, playing board games, backyard cookouts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to Disney, Jamaica, the Poconos, and road trips to California. She loved a good prime rib and smoked salmon. In her younger years, she worked in retail sales and as a grocery store clerk. Having a telephone conversation with her could go on for hours and she always ended with, "Love you Dearly, God Bless!"
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford. Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
