Sandra (Deutsch) Jones Obituary
Sandra M. Jones, 72, of Zelienople passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 30, 2025.
Born August 17, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Sandy was the daughter of the late Robert L. Snyder and Mary Clare (Mitzi) Herrmann Snyder.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Garrett A. Deutsch.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, James E. Jones; her son, Kevin R. Deutsch, who cherished her dearly; her stepdaughter, Jenna Jones; her siblings: Christine Brennan (Dan); Robert Snyder (Faith); Victoria Snyder (Mike Graham); Katie Bodnar (Mark); Lisa Wentz (Dan); and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sandy attended St. Ambrose Grade School, Spring Hill, and was a 1970 graduate of Domenec High School. Sandy went on to attend CCAC and earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science. Sandy was always a hard worker beginning with babysitting at age 12. Her lengthy career included an executive secretarial position with Halco Mining where she utilized her French language skills; the Scouting Department with the Pittsburgh Pirates for 18 years; and various positions including Human Resources at Westinghouse. Beyond working, Sandy loved life, her family and her many friends. She was an avid Beatles fan. Loved all music, singing and the arts. She loved to travel. She traveled extensively with her husband and sons, including many adventures with the boys in their youth and a European tour with her son, Kevin. She also liked to play cards, read, dance, and in later years fish! But most of all, Sandy loved to be with and to host large gatherings for her family. Her great nieces and nephews always brought out her beautiful smile, even on the worst days of her courageous two-year battle with cancer. Sandy will be remembered for her warmth and kindness; her love for her husband Jim whom she always made smile; and her endless love for and devotion to her sons, Kevin and Garrett. Sandy was much loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 3rd from 3-8 PM and Tuesday the 4th from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at Neely Funeral Home 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday the 5th at 10 AM at St. Matthew Parish, St. Bonaventure Church 2001 Mt.
