Sandra Kay Kayser, 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Born November 15, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Arlis (Dunn) Gamble.
Sandy graduated from Columbia City Joint High School, with the Class of 1965. She also attended IPFW for 2 years. On June 7, 1969, she married Paul Kayser in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sandy worked for Zondervan Family Bookstore and Barnes and Noble for a combined 40 year career.
Sandy and Paul loved to wander off on long road trips and meander home on side roads. Her favorite destinations were Cades Cove and Pawleys Island. She loved all kinds of music and enjoyed attending musical performances. She loved dogs, crosswords, and losing herself in a good book. Once Sandy got laughing, it was hard to get her to stop. She had a kindred spirit and made everyone she met feel special. But above all, Sandy loved her family.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, Paul Kayser; children, Kelly Kellen, Sarah (Duane) Shipley, Samuel (Melanie) Kayser, and Elizabeth (fiance, T'Challa Wallace) Kayser; grandchildren, Daymon (Shannon), Darian (fiance, Shemar), Kristina (Brett), Jacob, Benjamin, Hailee, Baylie, Savannah, Laylah, and Colton; and great-grandchildren, Fayth, Jayde, Mayci and Layci.
Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Sandy's Life at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
