Sandra (Sandy) Klein passed peacefully February 19th with her loving family around her. She is survived by her children Marjie Seras, husband Howie, Patty DeMaria, husband David, Richard Klein, wife Theresa and her grandchildren Lindsay DeMaria, Jake DeMaria, Carolyn Seras, Marc Seras, wife Stephanie, Hannah Klein, Levi Klein and great granddaughter Ava Seras. Sandy was a graduate of Bucknell University and worked as an educator for many years.
Though short of stature Sandy Klein was a giant to her family. She was loving and caring and showed this in many ways. Her love was often expressed with food. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved to look for recipes then adding or substituting many other ingredients to spice it up. A Sandy Klein Thanksgiving meal was a wonder to behold. She would always include a favorite item for each family member. After the meal it looked like no one had eaten anything as there was so much left.
Sandy was always up for a drive or any adventure. An avid tennis player and also golfer, she loved both sports and was always competitive. She loved games, including bridge and mahjong and loved to get together with her friends to play these. She especially liked the social aspect and going to lunches after the games. Shopping was a passion for her and going to any type of store was a favorite pastime. But she could also never drive by a garage sale without stopping or she would check out an unusual item on someone’s curb waiting for the trash.
Her favorite place was sitting in the sun on the beach. She always had a tan and loved the warm weather and the ocean. If she couldn’t get to the beach the pool was good too. She was also known to plop her beach chair anywhere the sun was shining and read one of the books or two she had in progress.
Sandy loved ducks and also birds. Her house was filled with all sorts of ducks in all different forms. Along with the feathered friends she was a remarkable gardener. She tended numerous indoor plants and always had an outdoor garden. She always loved playing around with plants and making things grow.
Sandy enjoyed traveling and got to see a lot of the US and did some international travel which included Scotland and France to visit her granddaughter. Her suitcase was always ready to take an adventure.
Sandy lived a long, happy, wonderful life and she lived it all on her own terms. She was a loving wife, mother, and grammy. She will be missed every day, but we are all so very lucky to have had her in our lives.
