Sandra Sue Koerperich, 80, passed away on April 6, 2025 in Wichita, KS. Sandy was born on April 20, 1944 to Dallas A. and Vaydel E. (Weir) Brantley in Oberlin, KS.
Sandy was raised in the Selden, KS area and attended the Selden Schools. Sandy was married to Richard Koerperich on April 19, 1960. The two would live in Jennings and Marienthal, KS and Albuquerque, NM until 1969 when they made their home in Selden. To this union there were 6 sons. Though Richard and Sandy would later divorce, they remained friends and were close to their children. She would later receive her RN license from Colby Community College and enjoyed working as an RN until she retired.
Sandy had a deep love for her family and would follow her grandkids to all their activities. She hosted many sleepovers with her grandkids and her great grandchildren brought a new joy to her life. Sandy welcomed everyone with open arms and open doors to anyone who wanted to visit. If she wasn't spending time with her family she would be reading books and putting together puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards and working for the Sheridan County EMS.
Sandy is survived by sons: Bernard Koerperich of Selden, KS, Dallas Koerperich of Larned, KS, Chris (Dana) Koerperich of Oberlin, KS, John (Tracy) Koerperich of Salina, KS, and Don (Katie) Koerperich of Selden, KS; brother: Wayne (Jennifer) Brantley of Halstead, KS; Sister: Dru Housholder of McPherson, KS; 15 grandchildren: Tricia, Ricky, Jennifer, Danny, Ryan, Caleb, Luke, Melody, Willow, Rachel, Austin, Tyler, Jessica, Jaiden, Jerrit; 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Her nieces and nephews were also a very special part of her life and she is cherished by other extended family and friends.
Sandy was proceeded in death by her parents, infant son Bryon Lee, grandson Joseph and brother-in-law Eugene Housholder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:30AM. Visitation will be Thursday, April 10th from 4:00-7:00PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with family receiving guests and time for sharing memories from 6:00-7:00PM. A Rosary will be said at 7:00PM. Burial will be in Selden Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made out to Sandy Koerperich Memorial Fund. Condolences can be left at www.plumergobber.com.
