Sandra Krieger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by William H. Clark Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 7, 2026.
Sandra Krieger, 85, of Hamilton Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 28, 2026. She was the wife of the late Roger P. Krieger, Sr. with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Born February 20, 1941 in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Stella (Matysik) Rostkowski. She graduated from Clifton High School in Clifton, New Jersey.

Sandra was a strong, independent, and savvy business woman who excelled at most everything she did. She and Roger operated the family owned business, Country Way Kennel Supplies, which supplied show dog fanciers on the East Coast with premium pet products for over 32 years. In 1986, they moved to Monroe County and opened a store on Route 611, Country Way Pet Specialties, in addition to their other business.

Sandra had a lifelong passion of breeding and showing dogs. In 1971, she purchased her first Dachshund, a longhaired miniature named Addy. This began her devotion to the breed lasting well over 40 years. She was mentored by local breeder Adolph Bollinger, a serious and steadfast German gentleman of well-bred miniature Smooth Dachshunds. In the mid 80's, she became friends with Rotraut Luhnau, another very astute and successful German Dachshund breeder, and was introduced to Wirehaired Dachshunds. Sandra bred and showed Miniature Smooth and Wirehaired Dachshunds as Tarlyn Miniature Dachshunds. She conscientiously researched pedigrees and planned breedings resulting in breeding/owning well over 100 AKC champions. She was proud of her accomplishments in breeding and owning Top Producing Stud Dogs recognized by the Dachshund Club of America, in breeding and owning AKC Group Winning dogs, as well as winning Best In Specialty Show at the coveted National Miniature Dachshund Club National show. Her legacy in the dog world and Dachshund community will continue to live on, as her children will continue on with what she so successfully began. She was a true breed preservationist.

Sandra and her late husband, Roger, were founding members of the local dog club, the Pocono Mountain Kennel Club. She advocated for the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs and was dedicated to educating the community concerning the care and welfare of dogs. She was an AKC Delegate and served in every position within the club, successfully being responsible for coordinating the yearly AKC dog shows hosted by the PMKC, and most recently, served as President.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Roger. She is survived by their four children, Pamela Krieger-Epright of Snydersville, Kim Prelovsky and husband Paul of Nazareth, Roger Krieger, Jr. of Bath, and Tara Hartman and husband Joel of Snydersville; five grandchildren, Eric Miller, Briana Booser, Roger Krieger III, Destiny Jacob, and Paige Hartman; 8 great-grandchildren, Abbilena, Edison, Hunter, Evan, Ava, Amalia, Olivia, and Owen; sister Carol Ann Carmody of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother Lou Rostkowski and son-in-law, Daniel L. Epright.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family with burial in Laurelwood Cemetery.
