Sandra Langley

Sandra "Sandy" Langley, a lifelong resident of Pecatonica, IL, born on July 13, 1940, in Rockford, IL, passed away on March 3, 2025. Sandra was the embodiment of a loving, supportive, generous, and thoughtful soul who found her greatest joy in the presence of her family and friends. She was a woman whose heart was large, whose spirit was strong, and whose love was endless. In the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Sandra's life was a testament to this truth.
Sandra was a homemaker, but she was so much more than that. She was the glue that held her family together, the light that brightened their days, and the gentle soul that soothed their worries. She had a knack for turning even the simplest moments into lasting memories, and her warmth and generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Sandra had a love of garage sales and auctions, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye.
She is survived by her loving family: her daughter Penny (David) Alsup and their children Alyssa and Benjamin; her son Ken (Rayann) Langley and their children Megan (Barry) Schiesher, Gavin, Cassie and Lucas Langley; Great Grandchildren Phillip and Ellee Schiesher; and her sister Shirley Mergen. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Marjorie Bonne, and her beloved husband, Dennis Langley. It is said that "a thing of beauty is a joy forever," and Sandra's life was a beautiful testament to love, joy, and family.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica Road, Pecatonica, Illinois with Pastor Micah Potter officiating. A visitation will be held Tuesday, in McCorkle Funeral Home-Pecatonica Chapel, 203 W. Fifth Street, Pecatonica, Illinois from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
