Sandra Florence Lehman, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Stonebridge Senior Living Oak Tree Villas Nursing Home.
She was born on July 15, 1939, in Meta, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank Joseph and Vera Louise (Finn) Buschman.
She was united in marriage at St. Peter Catholic Church on June 7, 1958, to Franklin Roosevelt McElwaine who preceded her in death on July 31, 1979. On November 28, 1986, she was united in marriage at St. Martin Catholic Church to “The best man she ever knew”, Francis Joseph Lehman who preceded her in death on August 1, 2021.
Sandra was an Account Clerk at the Missouri State Department of Corrections.
She loved to dance in earlier years with her husband, family genealogy, making floral arrangements and baking cakes. She made cakes for everyone in her family for their birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions. Her greatest joy was making the wedding cakes and designing their floral arrangements for her granddaughter’s weddings.
Survivors include five children, Kathleen Ann (Vincent) Stieferman, Taos; Cindy Lea (James) Kraus, Wardsville; Melissa Karen (Steven) Jackson, Brazito; Jennifer Louise (Jeffrey) Buechler, Bonnots Mill; and Scott Edward McElwaine, Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Laura Marie (Jason) Allen; Rachel Lynn (Brian) Schulte; David William Kraus; Stephen Michael Kraus; Hailey Elizabeth (Kyle) Mormann; Emily Rose (Matthew) Beauchamp; Hannah Elizabeth (fiancée, Matthew Scego; April Lynn (Vincent) Wood; and Nicole Marie (Daniel) Gomez; eighteen great-grandchildren; six siblings, Barbara Louise (Leonard) Coffelt, Jefferson City; Virginia Rosalyn Roark, Holts Summit; Janice Rose (Gordon) DeBroeck, Jefferson City; Orville Monroe (Helena) Buschman, Lawrenceville, Georgia; Larry Ralph (Linda) Buschman, Innsbrook; and Thomas Edward (Janet) Buschman, Holts Summit; a sister-in-law, Patricia Buschman, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Malorie Anne Jackson on January 29, 1999, and Tyler Steven Jackson on December 25, 1987; and two brothers, Jerome August Buschman on October 11, 2011, and John Bernard Buschman on April 17, 2021.
Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Jefferson City. Funeral services followed with the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG officiating.
Burial was held at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials donations are suggested to the Salvation Army.
