Sandra S. Lehman, 76 of Johnson Creek, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center.
Sandra was born on July 18, 1947, in Janesville, WI, the daughter of Donald and Ruth (Stoffel) Lehman. She graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in Livingston in 1965 and earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from Arizona State University. On August 31, 1976, she married Gary Rossman in Cobb, WI. Sandra loved to travel. She especially enjoyed Europe and Asia and was anticipating a return trip to Thailand. One of Sandra's claims to fame was that she was the first woman city bus driver for Madison Metro. She loved to learn and was a lifelong student, taking college classes for decades. She was a talented cook, Thanksgiving being her specialty. Her pies, cookies, and cinnamon rolls were beloved morsels, and she was an animal lover. While living on a former dairy farm, her and her husband began caring for and housing creatures in need – a project that lasted 10 plus years. Her sense of humor was huge, and her personal pride was admirable. Maintaining her dignity was very important to Sandra, even while enduring her final illness. She leaves a legacy that her husband, children, and grandchildren will cherish.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Rossman of Johnson Creek; children Lisa (Chris Lacey) Dailey of Portland, OR, Bruce (Somporn) Dailey of Johnson Creek, Yolonda (Jaime) Olivos of Madison, and Stephen Dailey of Deerfield; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and her siblings Laurie Lehman of Livingston and Dale (Donna) Lehman of Highland. Sandra is also survived by a number of other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Karen Keast, Donald Lehman, and James Lehman.
A celebration of Sandra's life will be held in July of 2024. Please check back for updated service information.
