Sandra "Sandy" Juanita McGee, 79, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:08 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on May 12, 1944, a daughter of the late Lloyd Cornelious Legge and Marian "Inez" Ruth (Dodds) Legge.
On June 30, 1962, Sandy married Leonard "Len" Woodrow McGee in Quincy, Ohio and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, DeAnna Lynne Jolliff; a grandson, Chad Bryant Reprogle; a brother, Timothy Lynn Legge; a sister-in-law, Cathy Legge; and a brother-in-law, Gene Siegel.
Sandy is survived by her three daughters, Tamara "Tami" Kay (Greg) Blair, Sheila Christine (Bill) Ferguson, and Melissa Jo Smith; nine grandchildren, Shawna (Nate) Newkirk, Justin Poling, Aubrey Ray, Cory Ferguson, Alisha (Jake Sanders) Ferguson, Jessica (Matt) Stotler, Joshua (Lindsey) Smith, Cameron (Kelsey Ford) VanHoose, and Shawn VanHoose; ten great grandchildren, Jordan Teague, Hunter Poling, Breyden Newkirk, Damien Smith, Mattox Stotler, Mya Smith, Amora Ratleff, Ellianna Ratleff, Bexley Newkirk, and Harper Smith; and five siblings, Joyce Siegel, Linda (Larry) Inskeep, Richard Legge, Steven Legge, and Barbara Markin.
Sandy had worked in food service for over 40 years and was a member of the Bellefontaine Fraternal Order of Eagles #2166 and the V.F.W. Frank D. Castle Post #1080 in Bellefontaine.
Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Sandy’s memory, to a charity of the donor’s choice.
