Sandra Rose Mercurio, age 77, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was born November 25, 1947, in Muskegon, MI, to Edward and Polly (Johnson) Blodgett. Sandy graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1965 and went on to work as a Retail Manager at Rite Aid for many years before retiring. She was also a devoted member of Family Bible Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. On January 26, 1998, she married Mathew D. Mercurio in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2011. Sandy had a deep love for lighthouses-she enjoyed both collecting them and visiting them whenever she could. She volunteered at the Trinity Hospital gift shop, loved playing BINGO, watching Sunday football games, and savoring her morning coffee. But above all, Sandy cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially during cookouts. SURVIVORS include three children: Chris (Heidi) Holmes, Kelli (James) Dolinger, and Molly Holmes; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Lou and Brad Blodgett; sister, Pam (Jeff) Pekel; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 29, 2025 at Family Bible Church with Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials to the American Heart Association will be appreciated.
