Sandra Janelle Mooney, 77, passed away Saturday, December 7th, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. Sandra was born June 21st, 1947, in Weatherford, Texas, to Albert and Thelma Morgan. She attended public school in Weatherford, Texas. In 1965 she married James Dwight (JD) Mooney. She was a devoted mother of four, grandmother, and great grandmother. Sandra and JD were married 50 years until the Lord called JD home in 2017. Sandra loved spending time with her family, and loved tending to her hummingbirds and flowers. Sandra was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, she loved singing in the choir, and loved to serve the Lord in any way she could. Sandra was best known for her hugs and her pies. She had an infectious smile that would light up any room she was in.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JD Mooney; parents, Albert and Thelma Morgan; brothers, Monte Morgan, Charles Morgan, Donald (Don) Morgan, Larry Morgan, and David Morgan; and sister, LaWanda (Sis) Bauer.
Sandra is survived by her son, Jerald Mooney and wife, Michelle; daughter, Shelly Coalson and husband, Greg; daughter, Terri Harless and husband, Keith; son, Jeffery Mooney and wife, Michelle; sister, JoAnn Daily and husband, Billy; brother, Bill Morgan and wife, Vera; sisters-in-law, Maryann Hodges, Nelda Luster, and Karen Mooney; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 2470 W. Lambert Rd., Weatherford, Texas 76088. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 5600 Mineral Wells Hwy, Weatherford, Texas 76088.
