Sandra Kay Mortensen

Sandra Kay Mortensen, 82, of Manito Illinois, died April 13, 2024 at Carle health Methodist in Peoria Illinois. Born on December 12, 1941 in Avon Illinois to the late Roy and Marjorie (Predmore) Yocum, she married Gerald Dean Mortensen on July 12 ,1957 . Gerald preceded her in death on May 15, 2015.  She was also preceded in death by her 3 children daughter Darla (David Huskisson )Mortensen, sons Rick(Ramona )& James(Kimberly) Mortensen and 1 great grandson Dawson. She was also proceeded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. 1 sister Julie Cassidy of Bartonville, Illinois survives.
She Is survived by 5 of her children, Robin (Sam) Mortensen of Pekin Illinois, Mike (Kari) Mortensen of Beardstown Illinois,  Lanette (Abraham) Vasquez of Manito, Gerry (Shannon) Schnitker of Manito; Mark (Carol) Mortensen of Keansburg Colorado. Daughters in law Ramona Mortensen of Seaton Illinois and Kimberly Mortensen of Keensburg Colorado. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren  and 16 great grandchildren 1 great great grandson. 
Sandra was an avid Cubs fan, loving gardening and  beach vacations with her daughters. She also liked spending quality time with her dog, Chewy.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
