Sandra Cox Parker, age 79, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at her home on Thursday, August 21, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Norfolk, VA, on June 13, 1946, to the late Max Carlton Cox and Catherine Rae Oliver Cox, she was the wife of Richard Clark Parker for 56 years. She grew up in Old Trap and was primarily a homemaker who held various jobs over the years. Sandra loved all animals, especially dogs, which included her fur baby, Nola. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and volunteering at local nursing homes to help feed and to make lap quilts for residents. She was a very caring person.

In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, Richard Jason Parker (Amy) of Elizabeth City, NC; a brother, Max Carlton Cox, Jr. (Linda) of Gatesville, NC; two grandchildren, Miranda Parker and Meghan Parker; two nephews; several cousins; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents.

No services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the animal charity of your choice.

There are no words to express my sorrow to Richard, Jason and family on the loss of Sandra Parker. She was my cousin but to me, more like a sister. We had so many good, fun times over the years that I will never forget. God bless her and the entire Parker family, she is at peace now and forever.
