Sandra Mathews Parrish passed away on Friday January 10, 2025 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was born in Quitman on February 26, 1947, to the late Jeff Mathews and Estrella Pope Mathews.
In her earlier years, Sandra attended Central High School in Thomasville. Professionally, she worked as a healthcare administrator for John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital.
A direct quote from Sandra herself, "Family has always been the most cherished thing in my life. I am so proud of my sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and their spouses, and great-grandchildren; their character and life choices have been amazing, I pray our God will watch over them as they go through life, and continue to guide and protect them. I have friends who have been there for me for so many years, I treasure my friendships. I have been looking forward to being reunited with my family and friends who are waiting for me in heaven."
Survivors include children Bret Parrish (wife Candy) and Brook Parrish (wife Anne); grandchildren Cody Parrish (Tanna), Chase Parrish (Julianne), Tracer Parrish (Megan), and Hailey Parrish Jones (Daniel); great-grandchildren Oakley Parrish, Cade Parrish, Wyatt Parrish, and Darley Jones; sister Jan Driggers.
She is preceded in death by her brother Jeffrey Mathews and parents Jeff Mathews and Estrella Pope Mathews.
Funeral services will be held at Salem Baptist Church on Monday January 13, 2025 at 2:00PM with Dr. Jimmy Clanton, Rev. Doug Thompson and Bill Sellers officiating. Pallbearers are Cody Parrish, Chase Parrish, Tracer Parrish, Stone Stephenson, Dargin Waters and Carlos Mendez. Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Stephenson and Jack Miller. Interment will be in Salem Church Cemetery.
