Mrs. Sandra Louise Pendergrass

Sandra Louise Pendergrass, 69, passed away with her children surrounding her May 4th, 2019 at her home in Springfield, Missouri. Our mother suffered with undiagnosed mental illness most of her adult life but found solace in her twilight years by participating in group therapy sessions with her friends at the Springfield chapter of NAMI. She also enjoyed her religious studies and chihuahua companions, Obi and Joey. As a grandmother, she loved the times with her seven grandchildren Owen, Ollie, Annie, Ashley, Tyler, Joshua and Rebecca. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Larry, only a few months prior. She is survived by her brother, Ron Honn of Tallahasee, Florida, six adult children - Sherry Brown of Lafayette, Indiana, Tracey Caudill of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Charles Pendergrass of Springfield, Missouri, Billy Pendergrass of Nixa, Missouri, David Pendergrass of Springfield, Missouri and Chris Pendergrass of Springfield, MO. At her request, her remains are to be cremated through Holden Funeral Home in Sparta, Missouri and no formal service is to be held. In lieu of flowers the family asks that instead donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or C.A.R.E Animal Rescue.
