We are broken hearted to announce that our sweet mother, Sandra Kay (Burden) Rollen, passed away peacefully at home on May, 22, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Sandra was born on January 19, 1944 and grew up in a loving home with her parents, Dewey and Norma Burden, Sandra is survived by her children, Kimberly Upchurch (Jeff), Angie Huff (Jeff), and Christopher Rollen (Lauren).
Sandra was a doting grandmother to Heather Beaty (Jon), Whitney Hale (James), Nick Upchurch (Kaylia), Carl Marlett (Jessica), John Huff (Sara), and Shawna Huff.
Her great-grandchildren learned early on that Grandma Sandra always bought the best gifts and each year Christmas Eve at grandma's house was a memorable family event. Her great-grandchildren were well spoiled and loved; Miles David Beaty, Maxwell Lee Beaty, Owen Thomas Beaty, Clara Rae Marlett, Annabelle Kay Marlett, Nathan Thomas Ray Huff, Baylee Alyne Richardson, Bella Rae Richardson, Dylan Alexander Hale, Corbin Michael Hale, Jackson Lee Hale, Jensen Lee Upchurch, and Everly Jo Upchurch.
Sandra leaves many memories to be cherished by her two best friends from high school, Judy St. John and Mary Jo Estep, and several other high school friends that have kept in touch over the years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, John Rollen.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie, with Mr. Mike DeCamp officiating. There will be no graveside services per Sandra's request.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
The family would like to thank our outstanding care team of Dr. Luke Ernstberger, Dr. Joseph Spahr and his oncology team, the IU Yorktown Healthcare Pharmacy staff, and a very special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice and Nurse Lisa for their compassionate and loving care of our mother.
