Sandra Sue Schultz, age 68, of Hope, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer and her children by her side.
Sandra was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 17, 1956, the daughter of the late Arno R. Bluemer and Alice L. (Wardin) Bluemer. She graduated from Merrill High School. She married Edwin E. Schultz on November 11, 1977. Edwin preceded her in death on August 19, 1985. Sandra worked for the United States Census Bureau for over 20 years, and retired in 2017. She also worked as a cashier at Meijer in Thomas Township. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and St. Peter Lutheran Church and currently belonged to Lord of New Life Lutheran Church in Midland. She was very active in her church community. She loved to spend time on the farm, enjoyed driving her golf cart, and loved gardening. Most of all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved to spend time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Sandra is survived by her son Matthew (Jennifer) Schultz and her daughter Tamara (Nicholas) King; seven grandchildren: Alexis, Avery, Natalie, Sydney, Zoey, Jaxon, and Ethan. She is also survived by her two brothers and two sisters: Barb McNally, Randy (Sandy) Bluemer, Bob Bluemer, and Brenda (Brian) Wale; a brother-in-law Don Kilgore and a sister-in-law Jolayne Lindberg; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arno and Alice Bluemer; her husband Edwin Schultz; her brother Captain Gary Bluemer and her sister Linda Kilgore, her brother-in-law Pat McNally and her sister-in-law Susie Bluemer.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 125 E Saginaw St, Merrill, MI 48637. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Lord of New Life Lutheran Church, 3021 E Hubbard Rd, Midland, MI 48642, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Rev. Carl F. Trosien will officiate the service with interment to follow in Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family.
