Sandra Ann Sleeper, age 72 of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones Janice (daughter), Brandon (grandson), and her fur babies, on January 21, 2024. Born on March 3, 1951, to Buddy and Johnnie Mae Ballew in Macon, Georgia. Sandra graduated from high school in 1969 and in later years completed certifications for Microcomputer Concepts (1992) and for becoming a Health Unit Coordinator (1993) at Pensacola State College. Sandra was determined to provide for her family utilizing her certifications which led to a career in warehouse distribution and supply. Sandra retired from her longest and last employer, HT Hackney, serving as an inventory and distribution specialist. During her years of retirement, she enjoyed time with her family and was always full of spirit and spunk despite several concerning health issues. Sandra was also unwavering in her faith with regular listening of sermons and reading of her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Johnnie Mae and Buddy Ballew, sister Linda, and son Tommy Nelson.
She is survived by daughter Janice Cobb and husband John, and her other daughter Regenia Brabham; grandchildren Rebecca Howard and wife Heather, Christine Kuker and fiancé Jacob Dorris, Brandon Kuker and partner Donald Ward, John A. Cobb; great grandchildren Arianna and Malakai Freeman, Lucas Collazo; and brother Linton (Lin) Ballew.
A visitation will be held at Pensacola Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 11am until the service begins at 12pm. Flowers can be sent to Pensacola Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to A Place of Hope: Small Dog Animal Rescue. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for their heartfelt care for Sandra Sleeper.
