Sandra Elaine Stigler, 73, of Littlestown, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Born on January 9, 1952, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte Rigney Poist and Frank Fuhrmanek. She was the beloved wife of 29 years to Daniel Ray Stigler.
Sandy attended Intersection Church of Gettysburg and was an active partner. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Everyone knew Sandy anywhere she went; she was the friendliest person and would give anything to help others. She enjoyed camping trips, going to the beach, and traveling, especially with her husband. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she loved dedicating time to her family, especially her grandchildren. Sandy also enjoyed spending time with her beloved Shih Tzu dogs, past and present.
Surviving her in addition to her husband is her daughter: Jennifer Nesselroad and husband Greg, grandchildren: Chase and Abigail Nesselroad, Matthew and Michael Buckingham, daughter-in-law: Kelly Buckingham, siblings: Sharon Bowers and husband George, Linda Pirtle and husband Bill, Brenda Waters and husband Steve, Melia Simmons, John Renard and wife Alicia, and brother-in-law: Carl Stigler. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandy was predeceased by her son: James “Jim” W. Buckingham, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 18, from 4-7 pm, at The Intersection Church,1980 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
Interment is private.
If desired, memorial donations may be offered to the Humane Society of Carroll County, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158.
