Sandra Hillick VanEtten, age 68, of Interlaken passed away on July 26, 2025 at Cayuga Medical Center.
She was born in Ithaca on July 24, 1957, a daughter of the late William and Barbara (White) Hillick. She started her professional journey at Tompkins County Public Library and later worked for the Finger Lakes Library System, where she excelled as a cataloging expert. Sandra also served as the director of Interlaken Public Library for several years after retiring.
She cherished her daily morning routine of completing crossword puzzles alongside her husband. An avid gardener, she found solace in nurturing plants and embraced the joys of cooking. Her passion for the outdoors was evident in her love for hiking and engaging in any activities that allowed her to connect with nature.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Keith VanEtten; her sisters, Lauri (Steve) Hillick and Sherri (Shannon) Parker; and her brother, William Hillick. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara (White) Hillick.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services.
