Sandra Walrath Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home & Memorial Park - Magnolia-The Woodlands on Jun. 9, 2025.
Sandra Carol Tucker Walrath was born in Guin, Alabama the last day of 1938, to Horace Bedford Tucker and Mattie Lue Waldrop Tucker. She was raised largely in Alabama, but graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas in 1956.
Following her marriage to Glenn Walrath in 1960 in Detroit, Michigan, they moved to California in 1964. Three sons followed – Jerry in 1967, David in 1969, and Thomas in 1971. The ensuing years in California were filled with having a house built, Cub Scouts, PTA, and an eventual return to work. Her final, and favorite, job was working for the Department of City Planning for the City of Santa Clarita.
After retiring, and following the death of her husband, she relocated to The Woodlands in 2001 with the stated goal of seeing the grandchildren grow up. She dispatched this admirably, attending school events and dance recitals and football games and eventually high school graduations. She was fiercely proud of her grandchildren; they were the light of her life.
She was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church of The Woodlands, and the relationships she made there were of great value to her. She also formed friendships with people associated with Tom's various programs, and her neighbors.
She is survived by a sister – Reba Mullens, three sons – Jerry (Jan), David, and Thomas {her constant companion}, two nieces – Becky Manning (Danny) and Shelley Fyfe, and a nephew – Lex Papesh (Amanda). She is also survived by her grandchildren – Rowan Walrath (Alex) and Connor Walrath, and grandnephews and grandnieces and their children. Additionally, she is survived by Richard Inzunza (Anjanette), who she always considered as a son. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 40 years, Glenn Walrath.
We will miss her greatly.
