Sandra Vivian Westbrook, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend peacefully passed away at her home in Tignall, Georgia, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 27, 1948. Sandra lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and her community.
Sandra was a devoted homemaker, dedicating her life to nurturing her family, creating a warm and loving home filled with cherished memories. She had a passion for crocheting and canning, and her creations were a testament to her love of tradition.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 59 years, Talmadge Westbrook, her children, Matthew Westbrook and his wife Karen of Ball Ground, GA, David Westbrook of Tignall, GA, and Wanda Montgomery and her husband Jerry of Greensboro, GA. She is also survived by her sister Jane Fowler and her husband Willard of Canton, GA. Sandra was a proud grandmother to Emmanuel Hester (Megan), Jacob Hester, and Jeremy Montgomery (Dezzi), and a great-grandmother to Zach, A.J., Matson & Wyatt Hester, Maverick Hester, and Justin Montgomery. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Virginia Ferrell, sister Marion Ferrell, brothers Aubrey, Michael, and Jerry Ferrell.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Mallorysville Baptist Church in Tignall, GA. She will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Rev. Barry McAvoy, Rev. Bud Sutton, and Rev. Edward Westbrook will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hopkins Funeral Home, Washington, GA.
Sandra’s family extends their deepest appreciation to those who have offered love and support during this difficult time.
