Sandy Kingsley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, Inc. & Private Crematory - Norwood on Jan. 15, 2025.
Sandy I. Kingsley, 84, of West Grove, Pa and formerly of Norwood Pa, a compassionate and devoted nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025.
Born on February 4, 1940 in Philadelphia, Sandy spent a lifetime embodying kindness, joy, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her career as a school nurse spanned 30 years, during which she touched countless lives with her gentle care and calming presence. She worked at Norwood Elementary, Glenolden Elementary and Interboro High, where her colleagues often referred to her as a true example of selflessness and grace.
Later, she shared her warmth and humor by volunteering as a "Caring Clown" at Riddle Hospital, using laughter to lift the spirits of patients and staff alike. Additionally, Sandy lovingly crafted and donated handmade quilts to military veterans through the Quilts of Valor program, bringing warmth and gratitude to those who served their country. Her creations were a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of others and a reflection of her deeply giving nature. She loved camping, quilting, traveling, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her dog "Gracie", her family and friends.
She was a loving mother to her two children, John Kingsley (Lisa) of Folsom and Karen Balbierer (Jim) of Glenmoore. She was an adoring Nana to her grandchildren: Tyler (Natalie), Eric, Rachel (Ben) and Rebecca, each of whom she cherished dearly and inspired with her adventurous spirit and resilience. She is preceded in death by her husband James C Kingsley of 32 years.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Saturday, January 25th at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 109 E. Doe Run Road, Unionville, PA 19375. Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am followed by her church service at 11:00 am. Interment Private.
Sandy's presence was a gift to those around her, and her memory will be cherished and honored by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her kindness. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for those she leaves behind.
