Sara Apel, age 86, a resident of Three Lakes, WI died on July 25, 2024 at Milestone Senior Living in Rhinelander, WI. She was born in Three Lakes on November 18, 1937 to Kenneth and Gertrude McLellan.
Sara graduated from Three Lakes High School and married Ron Apel in 1957. They lived in Menominee Falls, WI where they raised their family. She worked in the medical billing field. After retirement they moved back to Three Lakes and Sara bartended at the American Legion for 20 years.
Sara loved to feed and watch the animals around her property. She enjoyed going on walks and spending time with her family and cheering on the Packers. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Sara is survived by her children: Mark (Cindy), Ken (Sharon); grandchildren: Jared, Steve, Aaron, Jessica; great grandchildren: Cameron, Harrison, Aiden, Maverick; sister: Marylou Erickson; brother: Kenneth (Helen) McLellan; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ron; parents: Kenneth and Gertrude; siblings: Francis "Bud", Pat Wykowski, Tess Danowski; and special friend: Charlie Traska.
A memorial service will be at 9:30am Thursday August 8, 2024 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Three Lakes, WI.
In lieu of flowers donations in Sara's name to the Three Lakes American Legion or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
