Sara Helen Costlow, age 85, of Olathe, Kansas passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Johnson County Memorial Gardens 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
Sara was born in Woodville, Georgia on January 4, 1940, the daughter of Weldon Brooks and Vera Ellison. Sara was one of five children from this union. Sara worked and provided for her family as a secretary for many different companies. In life she loved watching birds, going on walks, cooking, and most of all spending time with family and friends, especially her grandkids. She was a member of the P.E.O. for many years.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Vera Brooks; her loving husband, Milton Costlow; sister, Rubye Hinshaw, two brothers, Alvin Brooks and Weldon Brooks, Jr., and stepson, Jon Costlow.
She is survived by her two sons, Randall Costlow and Stuart Costlow (Erica); stepdaughter, Susan Beth Steede (Kim); daughter-in-law, Linda Costlow; brother, Mack Brooks; nine grandchildren, Riley Costlow (Alexandria), Noah Costlow (Aubree), Jenna Costlow, Skye Costlow, Ethan Costlow, and Eliza Costlow, Jared Farris (Gwen), Seth Ferris (Jamie), Lindsay Toennies (Nicholas); four great grandchildren, Gage Farris, Luna Farris, Henry Toennies and August Toennies.
