Sara Ann Lee of Wauchula passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was
born on May 3, 1929, to Allen and Lena Purdom. She has resided in Hardee
County all of her life. She graduated from Hardee High School in 1947 and went
on to become a successful hairdresser. She was self-employed at Lena's Beauty
Shop.
Sara will be remembered as a devoted wife and friend as well as being the best
mom and "Granny". She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Wauchula, FL.
She enjoyed sewing, traveling, spending time at the beach, reading and spending
time with her family. She made hundreds of dresses for children over the years for
the Shoe Box Ministry Campaigns. She was a loving, kind and patient mother and
grandmother. She was a faithful servant and lived a simple yet fulfilling life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Cecil Lee, two daughters, Janie
Revell, and Celia Hayman and her brother Allen Bradford "Buddy" Purdom.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara (James) Jernigan of Wauchula, FL. her six
grandchildren, Jason Jernigan, Jared Revell, Jamie Futch, Amy Tubbs, Bryan
Chestnutt and Pam Chestnutt, there are also 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great
great-grandchild and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Her service will be at 11:00am, Tuesday April 1, 2025, at the First Christian
Church located 1121 Louisiana Street, Wauchula, FL 33873. Reverend Darin
Canary will be officiating..
