Sara Light Obituary
Sara was born March 4, 1940, to the late Harvey James Berry and the late Lucia Evelyn Shumpert Berry.
Left to cherish Sara's memory is her husband of sixty-four years; John Delane "Bunk" Light. She is also survived by her children and their spouses; Deanna Light McAuliffe (Gordon), Melody Light Williams (Allen), and Keith Light (Melissa), six grandchildren; Dusty Graham, Brittany Graham Burris (Derik), Michaela Williams, Daniel Williams, Matthew McAuliffe, and Reagan Light Northcutt (John), three great grandchildren; Alexandra Burris, Madelyn Burris, and Tyler Northcutt, brother; Ira Lee Berry (Myrtle), and in-laws Henry C, "Snooder" Light (Debra), Joanne Goodwin, Alma Fogle (Harry).
In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by two sisters: Eloise Lucas (the late Jim) and Ruby Lynn Poole (the late Perry), and her in-laws, Jeanette Lucas (the late Bill), and Harold Goodwin.
Sara worked for Southeastern Freight Lines for thirty-six years. She was a long-time member of Pelion Baptist Church prior to becoming a member of Northside Baptist. She completed Discipleship training at Pelion Baptist Church, which instilled in her the desire to witness and bring as many people as she could to our Lord Jesus Christ. She was an avid Bible reader, a wonderful prayer warrior, and loved to go to church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and always put her family before herself.
The Light family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the caregivers at Senior Helpers of Lexington, SC and Three Oaks Hospice for the care given to Sara.
Funeral Service will be 11 am on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery. Pastor Glen Day will be officiating.

I worked with Mrs Sara for several years at Southeastern Freight Lines. She taught me a lot. She was a hard worker to. I will miss sending her and Mr Delane Christmas cards. Sending Hugs and Prayers to Mr Light and family. RIP Love ya!
