Sara O'Neill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lambie Funeral Home - Philadelphia on Mar. 30, 2026.
Sara O'Neill passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by her husband, Edwin, her daughter, Denise, and her daughter's family. Sara was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a sweet daughter and sister whose strength, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of all those who knew her. She truly loved her entire family and would always speak of how proud she was of them.

Sara was born in Philadelphia on September 9, 1957, where she later worked for the School District of Philadelphia, happily doing so for a little over 20 years. Sara then proceeded to work at the University of Pennsylvania for a short while, but her heartalways remained with the School District. She took so much ride and genuine fulfillment in working as a teacher's assistant, not only supporting the staff, but helping students succeed academically. Alongside this, Sara loved music with all her heart. She was the choir director at several churches, where she shared her passion for music, and most importantly, worshipping God. Throughout all the ups and downs in her life, Sara's love to praise God through music never wavered. Her faith was her source of comfort and joy, and she never hesitated to sing or play instruments when given the chance.

Sara is survived by her husband Edwin of 17 years, her two children Denise Rivera (Hector) and Jason Rosario, her loving mother Carmen Caraballo, 10 grandchildren, Erica Martinez, Emily Martinez (Jack), Elizabeth Martinez, Samantha Rivera, Brianna Rosario (Josh), Jayanna Rosario, Bianca Rosario, Jason Rosario, Jr., Justin Rosario, Elijah Rosario and one great-grandchild Ares. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters Sonia Soto, Lisa Pizarro, brother Jesus Caraballo, Jr., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Sara was preceded in death by her father Jesus Caraballo.

In closing, I'd like to share a verse for encouragement, Psalm 34:1-3, which declares, "I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of his glories and grace. I will boast of all His kindness to me. Let all who are discouraged take heart. Let us praise the Lord together and Exalt his name."

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia 13500 Philmont Avenue. A service to celebrate her life will follow 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel. Sara will be laid to rest in Greenmount Cemetery following services at Calvary Chapel.

Sara's life was a testament to the power of love and faith. She was a beacon of light in the lives of those around her, her love a comforting presence that will be deeply missed. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her and will continue to inspire us to live with love, faith, and resilience. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Sara on her memorial page. Your contributions will help keep her spirit alive in our hearts.
