Sara Snider

Sara (Gearhart) Snider, 62, passed away on December 23, 2022 at her home in Deland. She was born on November 25, 1960 to Herbert E. and Elsie M. Gearhart. She spent her weekends and summers as a kid tending to her family's farm where they planted several pine trees along with other crops. As a kid she enjoyed frequenting the skating rink and pool in town. Her first job was at Dominos pizza which began a lifelong love of pizza. She worked primarily in the medical field and enjoyed sharing stories of her favorite Dr Patel. When she needed to get away her favorite place was to the beach and she found peace in the sunrises. In 2021 she was able to take a trip to the Grand Ole Opry and cross an item off her bucket list. Her favorite musician was Willie Nelson and she always loved to pay homage to her country roots. She is preceded by both parents, her first husband Harold Streight, and grandson Isiah Ritchie. She is survived by her husband Jerry Snider whom she married on June 29, 1987; 2 sons James Streight & Aaron Streight and 3 daughters Shauna (Gearhart) Ritchie, Sara Streight, and Kayla Snider; and 7 grandchildren. Services will be held at Dale Woodward Funeral Home with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
