Sarah Elizabeth Boles

Sarah Elizabeth McCuiston Boles, age 105, passed away November 3rd peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised on a farm in Rhea County, Tennessee, Elizabeth grew up with a strong work ethic and a spirit of determination. After attending business college, she began her career with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) during the construction of Watts Bar Dam. During World War II, she contributed to the nation's efforts by working in Oak Ridge-known then as the "Secret City." She often shared her pride in how everyone donated their Sunday pay to purchase a B-25 bomber for the war effort, fondly remembered as "Sunday Punch."
After the war, Elizabeth married Joseph Allen Boles, and the couple spent a brief time in Detroit, Michigan, before returning home to Tennessee, where they settled in Kingston and raised their family. Elizabeth left her career to raise three children before later returning to work with TVA where both she and her husband retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Lorena Pierson (McCuistion) and Andrew Wilson McCuistion; her husband, Joseph Allen Boles; her son, Donald James Boles; and her siblings, Ford, Roy, Jim, Frank, Benton, Ken, and Hazel.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Jane-Ann Hoskins and Linda Tipton (David); and her cherished grandchildren, Beth Beeckmans (JB Beeckmans), Nikki Smith (Rick Thomas), Matthew Boles, Shaun Tipton (Natasha Jones), and Casey Tipton (Gates Tipton).

Elizabeth's long and remarkable life was filled with faith, love, and perseverance. Her stories, strength, and steadfast heart will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston. Funeral at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles Bryan officiating. Private burial at Roane Memorial Gardens. Kyker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the Boles Family.
