Sarah Codella Obituary
Sarah E. Codella, 84, of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sarah also lived for many years in the Arden Heights section of Staten Island, NY. She moved to Freehold before settling in Jackson in 2022.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Sarah wholeheartedly believed in the power of Jesus Christ and lived her life as a testament to her devotion. She was a former member of the Christian Church of Canarsie, ICC Staten Island, Calvary Church Staten Island, and the JCC Staten Island. Sarah's unwavering faith guided her daily, as she walked closely with God throughout her life.
She was predeceased by her sister, France Pescatore and her husband, Anthony. Sarah is survived by her husband, Nicholas Codella; sons, Christopher Cunningham and his wife, Alison of Freehold and Joseph Cunningham and his wife, Koren of New Windsor, NY; six grandchildren, Nicole Archer and her husband, James, Stephanie, Jake, Hope, Ryan, and William; and a great granddaughter, Isabella.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM with a service to follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Tony Evans officiating. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's New Jersey, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, #203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
