It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sarah Henry Davis, who left us on February 5, 2026. Born on July 3, 1953, in Greenville, Sarah was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her straightforward demeanor and undeniable love for family.
Sarah was dedicated to her work at Face Mate Textiles, where she became a cherished member of the team. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life-like a good cup of coffee, a shopping spree at the Dollar Tree, and a meal at The Clock-where many will remember her laughter and lively spirit.
Family was everything to Sarah. She was a proud matriarch to her children, Samantha Davis Thompson, Mark Henry II (Candie), and Donny "D.J." Henry (Becky); her grandchildren, Kacie, Chris, Brent, Braylin, Lelynd, and Dylan Henry; Tristan and Preston "PK" Davis; Kylan and Justyce Thompson; Kendra Prest (Tim), Trent Smith (Lexi), and Dustin Jenkins; and her great-grandchildren, Chloe and Misty Henry, Colt and Carsyn Smith, James Prest, and Ellie Prest, and Christian Canzano; and her special grandchildren, Cory Pruitt, Cayleah and Chailah Haygood, Carsyn Ellis and Camron Hagood; her brothers, Freddy and Larry Hale; and her very best friend, Nikki Howthorne. Sarah also cherished her nieces and nephews, always ensuring they felt like one of her own.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ethel Hale; daughter, Melissa "Lisa" Smith: first husband, Mark Henry; second husband, Mickael "Mike" Davis; brothers, Buddy McGaha, Roger McGaha, Bo Hale, Donnie Hale, Teddy Hale; and sister, Jeannie Cox.
While she faced the hardships of life with resilience, being widowed twice, Sarah never lost her spark. She called things as she saw them, and that honesty endeared her to everyone who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sarah's life on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, by visiting from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, immediately followed at 10:30 a.m. by the funeral service. Burial will be in Graceland West Cemetery.
