Sarah graduated in 2005 with her bachelor's degree from The University of Michigan. After graduating, Sarah attended DePaul College of Law where she obtained her juris doctorate in 2008.
An accomplished labor and employment attorney and partner at Perkins Coie, Sarah received several recognitions and awards during her time of practice. Most notably, she was named in Chicago's Forty Under Forty in 2018 and was listed in Chicago's Notable Women Lawyers by Crain's Custom Media in 2019. The most important roles in her life, however, were being a loving wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. A tiny but mighty force, Sarah was fiercely loyal and dedicated to everyone around her. She had a beauty that radiated from the inside out and was the brightest of lights.
Sarah was predeceased by her mother, Carol Flotte. She is survived by her husband, Dipak Patel; children, Kian and Zain; her father Ernest Flotte, sister Cathy (Bakos) Gross; brother-in-law Pratike (Alisa) Patel; nephews Bakos, Connor and Sammy; nieces Lila and Neena and many loving family members and friends.

Uncle Ernie, Cathy, Dipak & family. Our family was saddened by the news of this sudden loss. Sara will be missed by so many. Our heart goes out to you during this time of deep grief. I have fond memories of Sara from our childhood that will live on. I'm certain her wonderful personality will radiate through Kian and Zain. While no words can eliminate your pain, I have the utmost admiration and respect for you Uncle Ernie. You raised an exemplary human being, I'd feel fortunate and blessed to achieve a quarter of your success with my children. We are thinking of you always.
