Schrader-Howell Funeral HomeDr. Peter John Cwik, age 85 of Northville, Michigan passed away on October 18, 2025.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 18, 1940 to his parents, William Stanley Cwik and Felicia Sutula.
Peter was a graduate and a longtime Professor at the University of Michigan. He received his Masters degree in Language Arts and his PhD in Education. Peter enjoyed traveling, bicycling, and spending time with his many dear friends from the University. He was a member of the University of Michigan Alumni Association. Peter had a dynamic personality and embraced life to the fullest, often volunteering for fundraising events for hospice and aiding at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his siblings, Mary Cwik of Chicago, Illinois, Mike Cwik of Spokane, Washington, Jane Cwik and Ruth Prindle - both of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews including Anastasia Prindle of Alto, Michigan and Zachary Prindle of Washington, D.C. as well as his longtime companion Joan Todd of Northville, Michigan.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. There will also be a Rosary Service beginning at 6:00 P.M.
Visitation will resume on Friday, October 24, 2025 at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth, Michigan beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M.
Peter will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan.
