Sarah "Geri" Geraldine Ardillo Cottrell

Sarah Geraldine Geri Ardillo Cottrell, 93, of Henderson, NV formerly of Erie, PA, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022.
Geri was born in Erie, Pa on February 27, 1929, a daughter of the late, Fortunato Tony Ardillo and Felicia Phyllis Marie Nasca Ardillo.
Geri a loving mother and friend to everyone.
She graduated Wesleyville High School in 1947 in Wesleyville, PA. She was active in the photography club, etc. After high school she was a short order cook/waitress at Russ s Diner. Geri took business courses and pursued her career path as a bookkeeper at the 1st National Bank in 1965 1973 then she was the CFO for Harold Cottrell Builder established in 1965 new construction and remodeling. Retired 1997 then traveled the US with her husband Harold, to visit family and friends. In 2005, the decision was made to move to Henderson, NV.
Geri was instrumental on the committees for the high school class reunions. She loved learning and history, took educational classes i.e. computer programming/data entry, real estate, the foster grandparent program volunteers and fostered elementary school age children, wisdom works tutor training to be certified in family in an aging society . Geri s other passion was cooking/baking for the family. Loved music/dancing, holidays, Butterflies. She was patriotic and loved the American Flag RED WHITE BLUE. Geri also liked playing card games and putting puzzles together.
She is survived by her children, D Joe Hamilton of Las Vegas, NV, John Hamilton (Barbara) of Charlotte, NC, Toni Hamilton-Herring (Brian) of Tucson, AZ, Robin Cottrell Little (Dave) of Las Vegas, NV, Harold L Cottrell II (Diane) of Henderson, NV, and Princess Cottrell Harding (David) of Pierre, SD, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, Brenda Ochs Saul (Mark) of Tucson, Az and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Geri is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Harold L Cottrell and her 3 siblings Fortunato Carl Anthony Tony Richard Ardillo. Along with stepson Sam Hamilton and 1 grandson Westyn Hamilton and1 great grandchild Jaxson Garza.
The family would like to thank Pacifica Senior Living Green Valley, Alternative Home Care, Ameery Home Care II and the Atrium Hospice team for the wonderful care given to Geri. A special thank you to Adrienne Kloecker for all the funeral arrangements!
Memorial Service will be held in Erie, Pa September 27, 2022. A separate announcement will be forthcoming.
