Wayne Ralph Delp

Wayne Ralph Delp, age 79, of Erie, PA., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, August 29, 2025. He was born in Cadogan, PA., on July 6, 1946, a son of the late Samuel Clyden and Mary Elizabeth (Guthrie) Delp.

Wayne was a proud military veteran who served for the United States Army in the Vietnam War. During his time in the service he earned many honors and medals, including a Bronze Star. He retired from G.E. after 30 years.

Wayne enjoyed many things in life, including the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing pool, bowling, golfing, and was a life long Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Green and Betty Klingensmith; and two brothers, Jerry Delp and Fred Delp.

He is survived by two sons, Sam Delp (JD), Wayne Delp (Richelle); his daughter Shannon Cassano (John); his grandchildren, Tyler and Ricky Bafik, Austin, Makayla, Caroline and Wayne Delp, and John Cassano. He is further survived by his sister, Ruth Baker; brothers, Bud (Carol) Delp, Clyde (Donna) Delp, and James Delp; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the VA Community Living Center for their care and support of Wayne.

Family and Friends may call on Wednesday, September 3, at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. from 3pm until 7pm and again on Thursday, September 4, from 10am until the time of the service at 11am.
